Using Valuta’s Portfolio improvement approach, delivering enhanced delivery across three business units.

To improve delivery of R&D projects across three discreet business units.

Approach

Deliver a series of Valuta Independent Reviews and report against the Valuta Success Criteria using a graphical presentation tool.

Implementation

Valuta carried out a series of independent reviews using blended Client / Valuta teams.  We trained team members in each of the 3 business units and shared them across the reviews.

Key Learning Points

• Project delivery approach differed between business units with no one ‘right’ answer
• Project governance a particular challenge, given global nature of project teams and speed of decision-making
• Project reporting for informed decision making a major challenge given highly technical nature of the projects
• Contractual complexity can impact delivery schedule and working relationships
• Global approach can create an exciting project team and present significant management challenges
